Fisher Roulette Strategy: What It Is & How It Works

Roulette, like any casino game, is a game of chance, but using betting strategies may enhance the overall experience and potentially minimise losses. One such betting strategy is the Fisher Roulette Strategy.

Developed by an author and a roulette player named Samuel Fisher, this strategy has been around since the 20th century.

In this Roulette Online casino blog post, we will discuss the Fisher Roulette strategy and how it works.

What Is The Fisher Roulette Strategy?

The Fisher Roulette strategy involves betting on even money outside bets on each spin (odd/even, high/low, and red/black). Its premise is that numbers with a potentially higher chance of winning are the best numbers to bet on.

It has a progression system that allows players to potentially recover their losses and gain some net profit. However, as roulette is a game of chance, nothing can be guaranteed.

Think of it as a less volatile type of the Martingale system. However, the bet increase is flexible and can remain the same over several bets before it increases or decreases again.

It was created by a rumoured author of the book titled “The Sealed Book of Roulette and Trente-et-Quarante”, who claimed to have “secrets” to winning roulette.

How Does The Fisher Strategy Work?

The Fisher strategy is said to work by increasing your chances of potentially hitting a win that could recover all your losses over time. It can potentially be played on American, European and French roulette.

Below is how the Fisher strategy works:

  1. You set an overall bankroll for the bets and decide how much you are going to start with.
  2. Then, your first four bets will be the same amount. Say, for example, £2.
  3. If you lose all four bets, you must add the total of the last three bets and use the sum as the next bet amount. For example, £2 x 3 = £6.
  4. Then, your subsequent three wagers will be £6.
  5. You can continue with this bet size until you hit a win.

The most important thing about this betting strategy is that the bets must be on even money outside bets. You can return to the initial bet size if you win on the first 4 bets. Otherwise, you may continue with step 4.

Is The Fisher Roulette Strategy Profitable?

While this strategy is said to be the “best”, it has never been proven effective. It offers possible wins that have the potential to recoup losses over time, which is a cardinal sin if you know anything about chance-based casino games. No strategy can promise a win when playing roulette. What happens is entirely based on chance.

In addition, it overlooks the house edge and assumes the even number of bets have a 50% chance of winning and assumes you can hit wins in a specified period.

In reality, roulette is a game of chance, and it is impossible to know when and if you will hit wins at all. In addition, this strategy does not increase your chances of winning. It only gives you room to possibly stretch your bankroll over a more extended period than a Martingale would, for example.

Therefore, it is safe to say this strategy is not entirely profitable. You can lose your bankroll and not recoup it just as well as you would with any strategy or no strategy at all.

Last Word

Strategies can be a great way to play roulette. However, they are not fool-proof and cannot promise you will win if you use them. The Fisher strategy is no exception. Outcomes are completely random and unpredictable. Therefore, you can never know if you will win or when.
